Driver inattention to blame in motorcycle crash north of Richland, WSP says

— Driver inattention is to blame for a motorcycle-car crash north of Richland at 6:44 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 24 about 25 miles northwest of Richland, the Washington State Patrol said.

Michael S. Jones, 59, of Outlook, was driving a 1999 Yamaha motorcycle east on Highway 24 when he struck another eastbound Chevrolet pickup in front of him that had stopped for traffic, the state patrol said.

The driver of the pickup was Linsey L. Andrews, 27, of Prosser. She was taken to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland.

Jones was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
