— A 20-year-old man was taken to the hospital after police say he crashed a car into a tree while intoxicated.

Blake David Coonce was treated and released from Kennewick General Hospital following the crash Sunday night, police said.

Coonce was allegedly “very intoxicated” when he crashed the car on the 400 block of N. Columbia Center Blvd., police said. He reportedly tried to drive away after the crash and struggled with officers before he was arrested.

Coonce was taken to the hospital, where his blood was drawn and he was treated for head injuries, police said.

He was booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of driving under the influence and resisting arrest.
