Kennewick police arrest suspect in backyard following chase

Tri-City HeraldAugust 26, 2013

— A 24-year-old Spokane man was recently booked into the Benton County jail after allegedly leading police on short chase in a stolen jeep.

A Kennewick officer spotted the jeep -- which was reported stolen from Discount Tire Store in Richland -- on Saturday night near Gage Boulevard, said Kennewick police Sgt. Ken Lattin.

When the officer tried to stop the jeep, the driver fled and crashed the vehicle into a sign, Lattin said. The driver then ran from police.

Police found Brandon L. Woodward hiding in the backyard of a house on the 1400 block of Montana Street, Lattin said.

Woodward was arrested on suspicion of multiple charges related to the chase. No one was injured during the incident.
