Kennewick celebrates Cascade Elementary renovation

Tri-City HeraldAugust 23, 2013

Madeline Gebers, a fifth-grade student at Cascade Elementary School, speaks to about 300 people during Friday's ceremony celebrating the building's renovation. Her father, Boyd Gebers of Kennewick, started attending the newly built school as a fifth-grade student 31 years ago. A $68 million school bond approved by voters in May 2009 paid for the remodeling, which included new electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, heating and ventilation systems, as well as a new kindergarten wing and full-size gymnasium.
