Frontier Days opens Aug. 28 in Walla Walla

Walla Walla's Frontier Days happens Aug. 28-Sept. 1 at the Walla Walla Fairgrounds, off Ninth Street.

Main stage entertainment this year features Craig Morgan and Gloriana. Showtime is 7 p.m. Aug. 28.

Morgan is a mainstay on the country music charts with 14 Top Ten hits that include Redneck Yacht Club, Almost Home, That's What I Love About Sunday and Tough.

Gloriana is a country trio made up of brothers Tom and Mike Gossin and Rachel Reinert. Their self-titled debut album in 2009 reached No. 2 on the Billboard Country Albums charts.

Main stage entertainment comes with fair admission, but reserve seats are an additional $25; box seats are $27.

General admission to the fair is $7 for ages 14 and older, $3 for ages 6 to 13 and free for ages 5 and younger. A family pass is $16 for two adults and two kids age 6 to 13.

Senior day is Aug. 28 with admission $4 for ages 65 and older.

Kids day is Aug. 30 with $2 admission for ages 6 to 13.

The rodeo ticket package costs $50 for three nights and includes a season gate pass to the fair. The rodeo is Aug. 30-Sept. 1 in the arena.

The Demolition Derby is Aug. 29. Admission is $12 at the gate.

Other festivities at the fair include a Dutch oven cookoff, mounted shooters exhibition, a children's museum, kids pedal tractor-pull competitions and dancing Aug. 29-31 with bands Whiskey Creek, Stompin' Ground and Froghollow Band.
