Corps delays proposed Snake River dredging

The Walla Walla District of the Army Corps of Engineers has delayed proposed dredging on the lower Snake River at least a year as an environmental impact statement is completed, according to a news release.

The Corps was planning to dredge the river between Dec. 15 and Feb. 28, when fish in the river would be less affected, the release said. The river was last dredged in the winter between 2005-06.

The dredging is proposed to take place in Lewiston-Clarkston and near Ice Harbor Lock and Dam in Burbank.
