Candidates filing in special period

Tri-City HeraldAugust 13, 2013

Candidates are taking advantage of Benton County’s special filing period for the November election.

In the Plymouth Water District, Thomas Henderson filed to run for position 2 and Judy Lear filed for position 3.

Wayne Mercer is the only person to file in the race for position 2 on the Benton Fire District 5 board.

Calvin Rinne has filed for position 2 on the Tri-City Estates Water District board.

As of Tuesday afternoon, no one had filed for open positions on County Well Water District or Finley School District boards.

The special filing period started Monday and ends Wednesday. Benton County reopened filing in races no one filed for in May.

Declarations of candidacy are available and may be submitted online at www.bentonelections.com. They also may be picked up at county auditor locations in Kennewick, Richland and Prosser.

For more information, call the Benton County Election Department at 736-3085 or 786-5618.
