State exports increase 11 percent, set record

Washington state exports including agricultural products, transportation equipment and electronics increased 11 percent in the first half of 2013 compared to the same period of 2012, reaching a record high export level for the state, according to a recent announcement by the International Trade Administration.

State exports grew to $39 billion in the first three months of this year, according to the data..

Destinations where Washington export sales were outpacing 2012 levels included Mexico, Germany, Russia , India and Qatar, according to a news release.
