Letter: Proposed freeway exit at Road 44 a bad idea

August 6, 2013

The proposed Road 44 freeway exit in Pasco would increase traffic in the heart of a residential area. James McGee Elementary School is two blocks from Road 44. Hundreds of students cross streets in this area on several different crosswalks. This will not be safe if the exit is built.

There will also be increased noise and pollution in the area.

The city of Pasco's notice of public meeting for this project was published in the Tri-City Herald a full month after the meeting was held. Many people in this area of Pasco are unaware of the proposed exit.

Pasco should inform the people in a timely manner. I object to the construction of this exit.
