Kennewick Babe Ruth 15s eliminated

August 2, 2013

Kennewick did its part in trying to reach bracket play at the Babe Ruth 15s Pacific Northwest Regional in Centralia on Friday, but it did not get the help it needed to advance.

Kennewick, which needed a win and couldn’t give up more than one run, beat Wyoming 8-0 in its final pool play game.

A win by Coos Bay over Grays Harbor would have had Kennewick playing today, but Coos Bay left the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning as Gray’s Harbor held on for an 8-6 win.

Against Wyoming, DJ Dyer pitched a complete game, giving up five hits while striking out eight. Kennewick had 10 hits — by nine different players — with Joe Spencer going 2-for-2 and Tyler Detloff hitting an RBI-triple.
