Dayton driver hurt after falling asleep

WALLA WALLA -- A Dayton man was hurt in an accident at 2:30 a.m. Aug. 2 when he fell asleep and drove into a concrete barrier, said the Washington State Patrol.

Russ E. Davis, 55, was driving his 1991 Chevrolet pickup west on Highway 12 near Walla Walla when he crossed the centerline and struck the barrier, said the WSP.

Davis was taken to Providence St. Mary's Medical Center in Walla Walla where he was treated and later released.

Davis was cited with negligent driving, said WSP.
