Washington Angels Red earn No. 2 seed

The Washington Angels Red of the Tri-Cities went 2-1 in pool play at the 12U USSSA World Series in West Covina, Calif., this week.

The Angels defeated the California Quakes 6-1; lost 9-3 to the California Firecrackers; and beat the Southern California Dream 6-1.

The Angels ended up the No. 2 seed out of the pool.

Bracket play in the 30-team tournament begins today, and the Angels play the Colorado Intensity at 12:30 p.m.

The tournament ends on Sunday.

FORCE TRYOUTS: The Washington Force 2000 14-and-under team is holding a tryout Saturday at Columbia Playfields from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Field 2.
