Habitat for Humanity Tri-Cities names new director

July 31, 2013

Rick Jansons has been named executive director of Habitat for Humanity Tri-Cities. He replaces Theresa Richardson, who held the post for about nine years before retiring at the end of June.

Jansons, who starts Thursday, has held several management roles at the Hanford site and most recently provided radiation safety and emergency management consulting services, a news release said. He also had a residential construction company with his father from 1998 through 2007, the release said.

Jansons is president of the Richland School Board and also a member of the Richland Public Facilities District Board, which is the developing the Hanford Reach Interpretive Center.

An open house to honor Richardson and welcome Jansons is 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Habitat office at 303 Wellsian Way, Richland.
