— A woman was carried from burning house Tuesday by firefighters in Wall Walla, a fire official said.

The woman, whose name was not released, was taken to Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, said Brad Morris, Walla Walla’s Deputy Fire Chief. The woman’s condition was not immediately available.

Fire crews were called to the fire at 1251 Boyer Avenue at 9:13 a.m., Morris said. Firefighters found the woman inside of the house.

A man was on the roof of the house when firefighters arrived and he was able to get to the ground safely, Morris said. A cat was also rescued from inside the house.

Fire crews controlled the fire less than 20 minutes after arriving, Morris said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
