Thunderstorms, cooler weather could hit Mid-Columbia this week


Unsettled weather conditions, including possible thunderstorms and cooler temperatures, are forecast for the Tri-Cities later this week.

Today's skies will continue to be hazy from Northwest wildfires. Smoky conditions could continue Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The Mid-Columbia has been under high pressure

for some time, but low pressure off the Oregon and Washington coast could move across the area later this week.

A 20 percent chance of thunderstorms is forecast for Wednesday night, with the chance of thunderstorms increasing Thursday and Thursday night. Temperatures should drop to just below 90 on Thursday and then to the low 80s Friday.

A slight chance of thunderstorms will persist through Saturday night.
