Royal City woman hit twice by car while jogging

— A Royal City woman intentionally was hit twice with a car Sunday night while she jogged on a road near Royal City, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Saul Angeles Pamas, 23, of Othello, was arrested Monday afternoon in connection with the hit and run, the sheriff’s office said. He was booked into the Grant County jail.

Jackie Monney, 33, was jogging on Road 10 S.E., near Highway 262, when a driver in a white Oldsmobile stopped and asked her if she needed a ride, the sheriff’s office said. When she declined, the man drove up behind her and hit her with his car.

The man then turned around and hit Monney again, dragging her a short distance before leaving, the sheriff’s office said. Monney reportedly did not know the driver.

Monney was taken to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake where she was treated for non-lifethreatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said. Her condition was not available Monday.

A Washington State Patrol trooper saw the Oldsmobile parked outside of a house about three miles from where Monney was hit, and the car was impounded, the sheriff’s office said.
