Doreen and Gene Waldkoetter

Doreen and Gene Waldkoetter of Green Valley, Ariz., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary July 26.

They were married July 26, 1953, at Reedeemer Lutheran Church in Richland.

They lived in the Mid-Columbia from the 1940s until 1997, when they moved to Green Valley.

Doreen moved to Richland from New York. She worked at Hanford her entire career, retiring in the mid-1990s from Battelle Northwest.

Gene came from Indiana to work for General Electric. He was employed at Hanford his entire career until retiring in the mid-1990s from Washington Public Power Supply System.

They were active members at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Richland and St. Johns Lutheran Church in Benton City.

They have one daughter, Gale Ann Skaugstad and son-in-law Cal of Fairbanks, Alaska.
