Fast Focus: 'Is the Tri-Cities growing too fast?' We've outgrown ourselves

July 28, 2013

The Tri-Cities is growing way too fast. The population has multiplied 10 times since I came here in the late 50s. Have you ever seen a 10-year-old child in a 2-year old's clothes ... legs and arms all spread out and not covered? The road system still looks the same as it did then. Still doing the same stuff I did then, not much has changed. Took a anthill made for 10,000 and added 100,000 ants.

Yeah, the Tri-Cities is growing way too fast, but what do you do? Can't stop progress. We are stuck in the fast lane in a compact car running out of gas. We deal with it when it happens, not before.
