Art in the Park planned July 26-27 in Richland

By the Herald staffJuly 25, 2013

The 63rd annual Art in the Park show, sponsored by the Allied Arts Association, opens at 9 a.m. July 26 in Howard Amon Park off Lee Boulevard in Richland.

Admission is free and so is the entertainment both days.

There will be a variety of food and beverage vendors on site.

The show runs until 8 p.m. July 26 and continues from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 27.

Public parking near the park is limited, and businesses don't appreciate showgoers taking up space from paying customers. The best solution is to ride the Ben Franklin Transit shuttles, which will circle continuously between Fran Rish Stadium on Lee Boulevard and Carmichael Middle School, 620 Thayer Drive, and the drop off/pick up point at the Richland Community Center in Howard Amon Park.

The cost to ride the shuttle is $1.50 per person one way or $4, one way, for a family of up to five. The cost is 75 cents for seniors and disabled persons who already have a Ben Franklin Transit reduced fare identification card.
