Tamástslikt celebrating 15 years in August

On Aug. 3, the Tamástslikt Cultural Institute in Pendleton will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a family day of kids crafts, face painting, storytelling and more.

The celebration continues throughout August with a drumming and singing showcase from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 10, which also includes stick games for kids.

All 15-year-old visitors also will receive a free bison sloppy joe sandwich Aug. 15 at the Kinship Cafe at the museum, which is next to the Wildhorse Resort & Casino off Interstate 84. Identification is required.

Andy Warhol's Cowboys & Indians exhibit opens Aug. 23 with a birthday party planned from 6 to 8 p.m. The annual Salmon Walk is Aug. 24.
