Electon letter: Aquatic center -- Yes

July 25, 2013

Imagine January in the Tri-Cities. It's windy and cold. There's little to do in our area when winter hits. That could change when you vote to approve the Tri-Cities aquatic center.

The center would provide an indoor/outdoor water park and competitive swimming pool, giving families of all ages a place to have fun and swim year round.

Not only would the aquatic center be a community gathering place but also an economic benefit. The Visitor and Convention Bureau describes the aquatic center as a way to attract millions of dollars in new events to our region. Let alone the fact that a Tri-Cities aquatic center would keep local dollars in our community instead of families spending money at outdoor-only aquatic centers in Moses Lake, Pendleton and Hermiston. Please join me in approving the Tri-Cities aquatic center.
