Pasco’s Ken Idler sits in seventh place out of 19 competitors after the second day in the Masters Men 50-54 division at the Reebok CrossFit Games in Carson, Calif.

That means Idler made the cut to the final 12, who will compete in two events today to finish the competition. Idler, ranked No. 18 in the world coming into the event, said last week his goal was to make the first cut.

Idler, who works out at FallOut CrossFit in Richland, entered Wednesday’s events in third place.

He placed ninth in the day’s first event, called Purgatory. The workout consists of 50 shoulder-to-overhead bars, an arm-over-arm sled pull for one-third of the field, 40 Burpees, another third of the field sled pull, 30 Sumo deadlift high-pulkls, a final third of field sled pull, and a sprint to the finish — all for time.

Idler finished in 14 minutes, 29.5 seconds.

He then finished 14th in the Deadlift-Box Jump workout. The workout consisted of deadlifting weight, then box jumps, then repeating them two more times. The reps were 21, 15 then 9 — all for time.

Idler’s time was 5 minutes, 55.7 seconds in the event.

Will Powell of Greensboro, N.C., and Troy Miller of Soquel, Calif., have the lead entering the final day with 331 points each. Idler has 294 points.

Two more events are scheduled for Thursday.
