Pasco woman dies following Monday collision

— A Pasco woman involved in a wreck on Monday has died.

Martha A. Benavides, 44, died Tuesday night at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Benavides was involved in a two-car collision on Highway 397 near Superior Street in Pasco, the state patrol said. The collision injured three people.

Benavides was a passenger in a pickup truck that crossed the center line and collided with another vehicle, the state patrol said. The driver of the truck, Maria T. Gallegos, 21, of Pasco, was taken to Kadlec after the collision and is in satisfactory condition.

The other driver, Donnie C. Wells, 56, of Kennewick, was taken to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco where he was treated and released, the state patrol said.

Alcohol or drugs were not involved in the collision and all three people were wearing seat belts, the state patrol said.
