Election letter: West Richland mayor -- Merle Johnson

July 24, 2013

Help! We need someone in West Richland to support the will of the people. The city council unanimously approved a rezone from residential to commercial at Austin Drive and Bombing Range Road. This vote came one week after the West Richland Planning Commission voted unanimously to reject the rezone.

This change was to benefit those who want build a hardware store at the corner of Bombing Range Road and Austin Drive, the busiest, most congested intersection in West Richland, showing a lack of empathy for our lifestyle. The vote came after a short recess, maybe to discuss a pending lawsuit? Was it because someone promised a rezone so the store could be built? Collusion?

We need Merle Johnson for our next mayor and change the city council and city staff.

ED COYNE, West Richland
