Auto dealers convention registration under way

Registration is under way for the Washington State Independent Auto Dealers Association's annual convention in Tacoma.

The convention will begin at noon Aug. 17 at the LeMay Car Museum, 2702 East D. St.

Participants will have the opportunity to earn Department of Licensing continuing education credits with classes on health care law, liability and more.

There will be a cigars and cocktails event with a live glass blowing demonstration and entertainment.

The gala dinner begins at 7 p.m. The dinner will include a presentation by keynote speaker Diarmuid O'Connell, vice president of business development at Tesla Motors.

At the dinner, the 2013 Lee Iacocca Award will be presented and there will be a charity auction for the American Diabetes Association.

Cost of the convention is $295 for up to two people and $99 for each additional participant.
