Couple injured in Walla Walla weekend shooting

— Police are investigating a shooting that injured a young couple shortly after midnight on Saturday.

The man and woman were getting into a vehicle near the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Moore Street when the shots were fired, according to a Walla Walla Police Department release.

One of the victims backed the car across the street to avoid the gunfire, striking a building. The man and the woman were injured and taken to a hospital but their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

No suspects have been arrested and investigators are urging anyone with information about this shooting to call 509-527-1960.
