7/21 Awards and Achievements

- The Walla Walla High School junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, or ROTC, rifle team recently earned top honors at a national event.

At the Junior Olympic Three Position Air Rifle National Title in Anniston, Ala., Walla Walla High School students competed against 37 other high schools.

The team earned the top score of 2330 out of 2400 possible points.

The team is led by Cadet Capt. Caitlyn Lasseigne and Cadet Staff Sgts. Sarah Jameson, Allison Juergensen and Andrew Jenkins.

- Taco Bell recently donated $28,500 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties.

The donation was made during the Tri-Cities Dust Devils game July 19.

A portion of the money was raised during the Bells for Teens campaign. The money will go toward the club’s educational and core programs.

The remaining dollars are part of Taco Bell’s Graduate to Go program and will go to the club’s College Adventure program.

The program allows at-risk youths to visit college campuses and continue their education.
