Letter: Reject aquatic center

July 21, 2013

Taxes, taxes, taxes: Why more taxes?

This country is in the worse financial shape it's been in for years and now somebody wants to add taxes for a want (aquatic center), not a need. I thought taxes were to be used to serve and protect.

As I remember it, we already had water slides go broke as there was not enough revenue or people supporting it. We had a couple of investors back out for one reason or another and now you want taxpayers to support it? This a no brainer. No new taxes for this hair-brain idea!

If there are enough people and they can come up with the resources -- without new taxes and my money -- do it , but I don't want to spend one cent on it.
