Yakima — Three armed men reportedly broke into a Yakima County home early Friday morning and threatened five people inside, according to the Yakima County Sheriffs Office.
The men allegedly demanded money and gold before stealing two of the victims vehicles, the sheriffs office said. Its unknown if the suspects took anything else from the house at the 17000 block of Cottonwood Canyon Road.
Yakima police spotted the vehicles a short time later and tried to stop them, the sheriffs office said. Both vehicles fled and one driver crashed into a hay field during the chase.
Police arrested a 20-year-old Hispanic male after the crash and booked him into the Yakima County jail.
Authorities are still searching for two other suspects who got away in a yellow Dodge Ram pickup truck with a Washington license plate of WD01876, the sheriffs office said.
Both suspect are described as being Hispanic males in their twenties, the sheriffs office said. One suspect is 5-foot-4 and skinny, while the other is 6 and 200 pounds.
