Tri-City HeraldJuly 19, 2013

— Three armed men reportedly broke into a Yakima County home early Friday morning and threatened five people inside, according to the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office.

The men allegedly demanded money and gold before stealing two of the victim’s vehicles, the sheriff’s office said. It’s unknown if the suspects took anything else from the house at the 17000 block of Cottonwood Canyon Road.

Yakima police spotted the vehicles a short time later and tried to stop them, the sheriff’s office said. Both vehicles fled and one driver crashed into a hay field during the chase.

Police arrested a 20-year-old Hispanic male after the crash and booked him into the Yakima County jail.

Authorities are still searching for two other suspects who got away in a yellow Dodge Ram pickup truck with a Washington license plate of WD01876, the sheriff’s office said.

Both suspect are described as being Hispanic males in their twenties, the sheriff’s office said. One suspect is 5-foot-4 and skinny, while the other is 6’ and 200 pounds.

Anyone with information about their whereabouts should contact the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office at 509-574-2500.
