-- Army Pfc. Vaughan A. Hawkins has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

He is the son of Lance Hawkins and Danielle Basford, both of Hermiston.

He is a 2010 graduate of Hermiston High School. He earned an associate degree in 2012 from Blue Mountain Community College, Pendleton.

-- Kenneth Alan Fletcher II graduated cum laude May 11 with an electrical engineering degree from the University of Idaho and was commissioned that afternoon as a U.S. Naval officer, completing a transition from prior enlisted service.

Fletcher and his wife Ashley (nee Bowden) are now stationed in Charleston, S.C.

He is the son of Melanie Fletcher of West Richland.

-- Army National Guard Pvt. Karina Martinez Perez has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

Martinez Perez is the daughter of Maria and Vicente Martinez of Pasco.

She is a 2012 graduate of Pasco High School.

-- Army Reserve Pvt. Wendy Barraza has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

Barraza is the daughter of Hicidoro and Rosalinda Barraza of Kennewick.

She is a 2012 graduate of Southridge High School, Kennewick.

-- Air Force Airman Seth D. Evosevich graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Evosevich is the son of Zane Evosevich of Richland.

He is a 2011 graduate of Hanford High School, Richland.

-- Air Force Airman Trenton A. Franks graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Franks earned distinction as an honor graduate.

He is the son of Caryn Redwine of Richland.

The airman is a 2012 graduate of Richland High School.
