Man wounded in Yakima County shooting

— A 25-year-old man was shot in the head with a shotgun during an argument in Yakima County.

Jaime Padilla was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with gunshot wounds to the head and upper body, according to the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office.

His condition was not immediately available.

The shooting took place Monday around 8:40 p.m. at a house on the 1600 block of Thorp Road, the sheriff’s office said. Padilla was outside at a friend’s house smoking a cigarette when a car pulled in the driveway and an argument ensued.

A passenger in the car got out with a sawed-off shotgun and shot Padilla, the sheriff’s office said. The suspects then left in the car.
