Americans release Lee-Knight, Walter

July 15, 2013

The Tri-City Americans placed a pair of 20-year-old players on WHL waivers Monday, releasing goaltender Luke Lee-Knight and forward Lukas Walter.

Walter played in 68 games last season and scored three points.

He played 117 games for Tri-City over two seasons.

Lee-Knight played in 21 games for the Americans in 2012-13 after originally not making the team coming out of camp.

However, he was a key contributor when starter Eric Comrie went down with a hip injury midway through the season.

The Americans open camp for the upcoming season at the end of August.
