— An 18-year-old Zillah man died Monday when the car he was driving collided with another car near Zillah, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Jeremiah G. Atkins was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on Gilbert Road and Cheyne Road, said a WSP release. He reportedly ran a stop sign around 12:30 a.m. and collided with another car driven by Cassandra M. Silva, 17, of Toppenish.

Atkins’ Chevy Cavalier rolled after the collision and struck a pole, the release said. Silva’s Acura Integra hit a tree and she was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Her condition was not immediately available.

Both teens were wearing their seat belts, the release said.
