2 Umatilla inmates have chickenpox

Associated PressJuly 12, 2013

— An Oregon Corrections Department spokeswoman confirms that two inmates at a state prison in Umatilla have chickenpox.

The East Oregonian said spokeswoman Liz Craig confirmed the cases at Two Rivers Correctional Institution.

Craig said Friday in a statement that the cases have led the prison to move to modified operations, which means prison officials canceled visiting until further notice. Also canceled were this weekend’s scheduled inmate-family events.
