Letter: Faith in people restored by Richland city employee

July 11, 2013

I feel a deep sense of gratitude to the Richland city employee who retrieved my purse from the bus bench where I had left it, and took it to the police station so the police could return it to me.

I not only got back my purse --but also my faith in the kindness of strangers and the inherent goodness of most people. Also, I feel safe -- a gift of incalculable value. Thanks, Richland employee. Thanks, honest people everywhere, for doing the right thing and bringing relief and joy to others.
