Letter: Thanks for nine years of generosity

July 11, 2013

This letter is to express our gratitude to the group of local volunteers who for nine years have given their time and talents to sponsor a pancake breakfast fundraiser to benefit Safe Harbor Support Center, which includes, among other things, the My Friends Place shelter for homeless teens.

As a member of the board of directors of Safe Harbor Support Center, I'd like to state that their ongoing generosity is a testament to their commitment to prevent child abuse and trauma in our community. For the Ninth Annual Pancakes for Kids on June 1, we thank these sponsors: Benton Franklin Mounted Sheriff's Posse, Henry's Restaurant, Red Door Party Rentals, Bennett Rentals, Frank and Mary Lamb, Tri-City Sign and Barricade, and Windermere Tri Cities. We'd also like to thank the pancake chefs: Benton County Sheriff Steve Keane, Kennewick Police Chief Ken Hohenberg, Richland Police Chief Chris Skinner, Benton County Prosecutor Andy Miller and former Benton County Commissioner Leo Bowman.

We left the event with stomachs full of carbs and hearts full of gratitude! Our community would not be the same without you -- thank you for supporting trauma care for local youth and their families.
