Juan Manuel Velasco

— Police arrested a 30-year-old Tri-Cities man who was wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting in West Richland.

Juan Manuel Velasco was arrested by Pasco police officers early Tuesday morning at an apartment on West Sylvester Street, said Pasco police Capt. Jim Raymond.

Authorities were searching for Velasco following a shooting on July 1 at a house on the 1000 block of North 61st Avenue.

Velasco apparently got into an argument with another man and fired a single shot from a shotgun as he left in a car, said West Richland Police Chief Brian McElroy.

No one was injured during the incident.

Velasco also had warrants out for his arrest and was booked into the Benton County jail, Raymond said.
