Pasco man pleads innocent to raping young girl

— A 67-year-old Pasco man has pleaded innocent to allegations he sexually assaulted a young girl.

Antonio Carrillo appeared Tuesday in Franklin County Superior Court on one count each of first-degree child molestation and first-degree rape of a child.

Court documents show that a Pasco police officer responded to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco at 7:30 p.m. June 27 for reports of a young girl who'd allegedly been molested.

Hospital staff told the officer the girl had injuries consistent with being sexually assaulted, documents said.

The girl reportedly told her mother what had happened, but the officer opted not to interview the girl given her young age.

Officers went to Carrillo's home at 10 p.m. and took him to the police department for questioning.

Carrillo admitted to inappropriately touching the girl, but claimed he stopped his actions moments after he started, documents said.

Carrillo is being held in the Franklin County jail on $50,000 bail. His trial is scheduled Aug. 28.
