Letter: Move Richland market

July 8, 2013

Attending the Richland Farmers Market has been and continues to be a wonderful experience. It has a great selection of locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables along with reasonable prices.

The vendors of other items such as Ethos Bakery are also a great attractions. However, the Parkway location of the Farmers Market is a problem. The patronage level has increased to a point where it is beyond difficult to maneuver among the various vendors. The parking situation is very congested. The traffic situation is also affected by blocking off of a section of Lee Boulevard. It is time to consider moving the Richland Farmers Market to a better location such as the Uptown Shopping Center. That location has plenty of parking, room for uncongested vendor sites and less of an affect on downtown Richland traffic.
