Othello teacher could face charges for alleged inappropiate behavior with male student

— A former Othello school teacher could face criminal charges for alleged inappropriate behavior with a 10-year-old student in her reading class, a police official said Monday.

The Othello Police Department has been investigating allegations of “unprofessional behavior” against former Scootney Springs Elementary teacher Lisa Davis since late May, said Othello Police Chief Steve Dunnagan.

Davis, 48, recently resigned from the school, where she was a 5th grade teacher.

The police department finished the investigation last week and has referred the case to the Adams County Prosecutor’s Office for possible criminal charges, Dunnagan said. Dunnagan declined to go into detail about the investigation.

Police began investigating Davis after allegations from the Othello School District about “unprofessional behavior,” Dunnagan said. The allegations involve a male student.
