Temperatures to heat up in Tri-Cities this week

— Temperatures will be heating up this week in the Tri-Cities, with highs of about 93 degrees Monday increasing to 97 Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Some cooling should occur later in the week with highs dropping into the upper 80s for most days Thursday through Sunday.

The threat of thunderstorms for the Mid-Columbia has passed.
