Madison hydroplane race still on hold

July 5, 2013

Race officials in Madison, Ind., continue to monitor weather and water conditions, hoping to get the Lucas Oil Madison Regatta on the Ohio River sometime before Sunday evening.

All of the other Regatta festival events are still scheduled to go off as planned, including today’s musical events and air show.

H1 Unlimited drivers will also participate in 2 autograph signing sessions.

Heavy rains in the area this week have kept the swollen river from receding to raceable levels as officials had hoped.

With the high water come other concerns such as floating debris on the race course and a lack of space in the pit area.
