Connor Craig tripled in a pair of runs as Twin City jumped out with a three-run first, and Hunter Chambers’ RBI single in the third proved to be the winner as the Titans opened with a 6-3 win over Rainier Baseball at the Yakima Firecracker baseball tournament on Thursday at Davis High School.

The Titans scored early again in their second game but couldn’t keep it up in a 12-4 loss to the Walla Walla Bears.

Cody Pedroza went the distance on the hill in the opener, giving up six hits and two walks while striking out seven.

Gibson McGeorge knocked in a pair of runs, and Logan Jackson had two more hits to up his average to .467 (7-for-15) over his last four games.

Levi Broeske’s two-run double in the first got the Titans off to a quick start against Walla Walla. But the Bears answered back with three in the second and six in the third.

JUNIOR BANDITS 18, FLAMES 11: The Kennewick Junior Bandits and Hanford Flames didn’t wait for the sun to go down to shoot off some fireworks.

Tate Spivey drove in seven runs to lead the Junior Bandits to an 18-11 win over the Flames in an American Legion game Thursday at Waits Field.

Tyler Dupuis and Colin Doyle each drove in three runs for Kennewick as the two teams combined for 32 hits and 12 errors in the nine-inning contest.

Sawyer Henry was 3-for-6 with two doubles and three RBIs for the Flames, and Jon Miles went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.

32nd Duster Bowl: Matthew Oldham and Levi Scantlin each tossed one-hit shutouts to lead their teams to first-round wins in the wood bat tournament at LaPierre Field.

Oldham pitched the Kennewick Junior Bandits to an 11-0 win over the Pasco Rebels. Jake Kirchhoff was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI.

Scantlin’s one-hitter paved the way for the Kennewick Phantoms’ 10-0 win over the Pasco Sun Devils.

The Hermiston Spuds beat the Dusters Baseball Club 6-3, and the Eastlake Wolves downed the host Pepsi Cola Dusters 9-6 in the nightcap. Seth Price was 3-for-4 and drove in four runs for the Dusters.
