Boy Scouts, Young Marines take awards at Pasco July 4 parade

— Pasco’s 25th Annual Grand Old 4th of July Parade had 71 entries on Thursday.

The automobile Port of Pasco Commission President Jean Ryckman rode in won the mayor’s choice award.

The sweepstakes award went to Boy Scout Troop 159, sponsored by the Pasco Knights of Columbus.

Columbia River Young Marines received the drill teams award and the Tri-City Desert Riders Mounted Drill Team was honored by the equestrian award.

Two U.S. Navy military jeeps, 1951 M38 and 1946 Willy5 , took the car clubs award.

The Atomic City Roller Girls skated out with the civic floats award.

And Pasco’s RDO Equipment Co. was recognized with the commercial floats award.

The grand marshal for the parade was Mike Miller, owner of Moon Security.
