Pasco jury to continue deliberations in Tashia Stuart murder case

July 2, 2013

Pasco jurors went home Tuesday after their first full day of deliberations without reaching a verdict in Tashia Stuart's murder trial.

They are expected to begin again Wednesday morning.

Prosecutors and the defense finished presenting their cases Friday in Franklin County Superior Court.

Stuart, 40, is charged with first-degree murder with aggravating circumstances and attempted first-degree murder in connection with the death of her mother Judy Hebert in March 2011.

Stuart says she shot her mom in self-defense when her mother allegedly came at her with a hatchet.

Her trial started May 28.
