Richland woman injured in rollover

— A Richland woman was injured when the driver of a car in Douglas County fell asleep Saturday.

Ryan Childress, 21, of Richland, was driving a Nissan Maxima east on Highway 172 about 15 miles northeast of Waterville, when he fell asleep, according to the Washington State Patrol.

His car left the road at 5:34 p.m., rolled and came to rest on its wheels, according to police reports.

Childress was not injured. But his passenger, Audrey Shipley, 21, of Richland, was taken to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, where she was treated and released.

Both were wearing seatbelts.
