— A Finley man who apparently fell asleep at the wheel while driving home from work crashed his pickup in a Kennewick roundabout about 1 p.m. today, according to Kennewick police.

Wayne Schmelzer, 52, was driving a late model Chevrolet 2500 pickup when he crashed in the roundabout at West 27th and South Vancouver streets, said Officer Matt Newton. Schmelzer was not injured and no other vehicles were involved in the incident, Newton said.

The driver is not suspected of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, Newton said.
