Coalition to host third annual tackweed pull

Tri-City HeraldJune 27, 2013

The Tackweed Coalition is sponsoring the third-annual Great American Tackweed Pull from 9 a.m. to noon on July 13.

Tackweed, or puncture vine, is a weed that troubles many area residents, especially those who bike or walk their dogs along trails like the Sacajawea Heritage Trail along the Columbia River in Pasco.

The Tackweed Coalition is looking for volunteers to help rid the Heritage Trail of the weed and its pointy seeds.

To sign up to be a volunteer or to get more information, call the city of Pasco at 543-5759 or the Franklin County Noxious Weed Board at 545-3847.

Tri-City Herald is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
