Richland's Strankman finishes 16th at Women's Am

Tukwila’s Mallory Kent went wire-to-wire to win the 20th Washington State Women’s Amateur on Thursday at Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club in Federal Way.

Kent, who will be a senior at Washington State in the fall, shot a 4-over 76 to win by one stroke over University Place’s Jordan Ferreira. Kent finished at 224 for the three-round tournament.

Richland’s Kristin Strankman finished in 16th place, finishing at 246 after a 10-over 82 in the third round. Richland’s Hope Neidhold finished in 37th at 277.

Olympia’s Lisa Smego won the 14th Washington State Senior Women’s Amateur at 233.
