When the Colorado Rockies signed Jiminian as a 17-year-old free agent in 2010, they were excited about his electric repertoire, which included a 92 mph fastball, a strong curve and promising change up. He hasn't disappointed them, building up experience in the Dominican Summer League in 2010-11 before making his U.S. debut in 2012 at Grand Junction, Colo., going 2-4 with a 7.71 ERA in 13 starts. In two starts this season, Jiminian has been one of the Dust Devils' steadiest starters with a 3.86 ERA. He's not a strikeout pitcher but has shown improved control, walking just two batters in 11 2/3 innings after a ratio of 6.4 per 9 innings last season.
